What’s happening in the Vineyard
Veraison! We have finally reached the next crucial stage in the grapes’ annual lifecycle. Pronounced “verr-ray-zohn” (because, you know, French), it’s the onset of ripening when the grapes start to turn from green to purple. They also begin to naturally sweeten as they accumulate sugar. This is a critical point in development as it indicates when harvest will occur (about 8 weeks from onset). Veraison began later this season due to Sonoma County experiencing an unusually cool July, with daily temps averaging 80 degrees rather than the typical 88 degrees we usually see. But fear not! The grapes actually very much enjoy this temperature and are looking extra good.

Events
We had a fabulous tasting event with J Rickards Winery in Coverdale, California. We joined forces with 5 other boutique, family-owned wineries from around Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys to collectively offer attendees tastes of our wines paired with unique small bites.
Upcoming Events
Join us at One Life Kitchen in Barrington, Illinois, for our first installment of “Sonoma Country Meets Barrington”. On Thursday, September 11, stop by between 5pm and 8pm. This open-house style wine tasting will feature Adruni Vineyards Wines and rotating other Sonoma County wines and led by expert wine lover Lauren Brynjelsen.
$35 in advance or $40 at the door. Very light nibbles will be provided.

Recipe of the Month
Peach Caprese Skewers
We made this easy (and pretty!) appetizer for the above Artisan Wine Tasting event in California, and it paired perfectly with our Sauvignon Blanc! We took advantage of the cherry tomatoes in our garden and local Dry Creek peaches, which are in peak season.
R E C I P E
- 12 Sunburst Cherry Tomatoes, sliced in half
- 1 Container fresh Mini Mozzarella balls
- 1-2 Fresh Peaches (not overripe), chopped into 12 pieces
- 12 Fresh Basil leaves, torn in half
- Olive Oil
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Sea Salt
- 12 Bamboo Appetizer Picks – 4.7” size

Assemble each skewer with 2 halves cherry tomato, 2 mini mozzarella, 2 halves basil leaves and 1 piece of chopped peach, alternating the items on the skewer. Sprinkle with sea salt and drizzle with olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
