Spring Has Sprung! — Adruni’s March Newsletter

What’s Happening in the Vineyard

MARCH was hot, hot, hot! Unusually high temperatures (in the 90s!) brought early bud break and bloom in the same month – which is highly unusual for Dry Creek Valley. Our roses are also opening up in spectacular fashion across the vineyard.

Bud Break
The first sign of spring, the vines awake from their winter slumber and tiny buds appear on the branches.

Bloom
Bloom is what looks like baby grapes, but are actually flower buds. We will see flowers in the next few weeks which then produce the grapes.

PAIRING OF THE MONTH

In honor of our “Read Between the Wines Event” this week, we are pairing one of our wines with one of our favorite novels about wine, instead of our usual recipe.

Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave is set in our very own Sonoma County! It’s a story about secrets, family dynamics, love, and the meaning of home during the vineyard’s final harvest.

PAIR WITH

Our 2021 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

This vintage release was our family’s first foray into the wine business, 800 Grapes is about that family’s last vintage. This wine is complex, just like the relationships in the book, and both have a beautiful finish.

COME VISIT THE ESTATE!

Our 100-acre property is available as a vacation rental! Located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley wine country, it accommodates 6-8 guests and a few summer dates are still open!
